Come One, Come All – The Annual Kapa’a Coconut Festival Is Back!

Sun, surf, sand…and coconuts! That’s all it takes to make your Hawaiian vacation complete, and that’s what’s waiting for you on Kaua’i from October 7th – 8th, 2017.

The Kapa’a Business Association’s 21st Annual Coconut Festival will be held at Kapa’a Beach Park, and it’s an event you don’t want to miss, especially if you’re a nut for all things coconut!

Even if you’re not a coconut fanatic, you won’t want to miss Kaua’i’s biggest annual festival. In addition to celebrating the beloved palm fruit (Or is it a nut? Or a seed? Or all three?!), you’ll find plenty of options for fun in the sun. Indulge in a day of music, cooking, eating, dancing, and shopping – add the Coconut Festival to your list of must-dos when you visit Kaua’i this October. Better yet, plan your trip around the first weekend of October to make sure you don’t miss it!

On an Island in the Sun

You will see why the Royal Coconut Coast is called such as soon as you sink your toes into warm, soft, white sand and gaze upon the incredible coconut groves lining the ocean’s shores. It’s one of the most beautiful areas of Kaua’i, previously reserved for the royalty of the Hawaiian kingdom.

Today, the Royal Coconut Coast attracts visitors from around the world, largely in part because of the rich history travelers experience during their stays. Attending the annual Coconut Festival is one of the ways you can immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture and learn about the past, while making plenty of memories you’ll savor long into the future!

Food, Fun, and Entertainment All Weekend Long

The coconut is used in a variety of ways, but one of the central ways the Coconut Festival celebrates this popular fruit is with food. Sample selections from the cooking contest and watch acclaimed chefs prepare coconut-infused fare. The festival wouldn’t be complete without a coconut pie eating contest! Join in or just watch – either way your whole family is going to have a blast.

There will be tons of great local food, but the experience wouldn’t be complete if you couldn’t listen to island music while you snacked! Local artists will be playing Hawaiian classics for open-air entertainment that can’t be beat.

Mark your calendars!

Don’t miss the fun when the The Kapa’a Business Association’s biggest event takes place at Kapa’a Beach Park:

  • Saturday, October 7th, 2017: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, October 8th, 2017: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

After the Coconut Festival, you will want to stick around on Saturday. At 6:00 p.m., the Kapa’a Business Association will be hosting its monthly First Saturday event, which includes more great opportunities to shop, eat, drink, and enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian night.
